Gloom and misery Vagueness and mystery Innocence and Silence Depth and shadows Music, love, memories Fleeting yet lingering Hidden yet obviously seen Faded tears and a broken heart Troubled and lost Blinded and frost
Lone star, single blossom A feather suspended in the air Beautiful, pretending not to be Almost unnoticeable Almost forgotten And yet firmly fastened Scenes captured, moments treasured

Four Philippine universities made it again to the Top 200 Asian universities list of consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd. (QS) for 2010, even as this is not really a cause for celebration in a country with about 2,000 institutions of higher education.

UP, involved in another lopsided ball game, this time against FEU, owned their fourth straight loss, 70-94. Early on, the team lost the service of guard, Woody Co, who got injured. The deficit grew up to 20 points entering halftime. A spark for the UP team was seen in the start of the 3rd quarter, cutting the lead from 20 to only seven. However Noundou’s dunk on the other side of the court ended the momentum. From then on, the Maroons’ effort to take a lead or at least tie the game was lost. FEUs’ Cervantes and Ramos lead the scoring, punishing UP with back-to-back field goals.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – The University of Sto. Tomas (UST) leaned on its outside shooting to survive University of the Philippines’ (UP) late-game rally, winning in overtime, 87-81, at the UAAP on Thursday.
The Growling Tigers needed the extra time to dispose of the pesky Maroons after wasting a 39-32 half-time lead in their game at the Araneta Coliseum.
Timely basketballs beyond the arc, including a 4-point play by Jeric Fortuna, pushed the Tigers ahead, 82-75.
Back-to-back triples by Michael Silungan and Martin Reyes moved UP within striking distance, 84-81.
However, Aljon Mariano’s slam after Silungan’s failed triple spelled UP’s doom, 87-81, with 1.3 seconds remaining.
UST was actually on the verge of defeat when Woody Co nailed a basket that pushed UP ahead, 69-68, 59.3 remaining in the 4th.
But Jeric Teng tied the game 69-all on the free throw line after fishing a foul off UP’s Silungan, sending the game to overtime.
Fortuna top scored for the Tigers, tallying 29 points on 8 triples. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and 5 steals as UST secured its 2nd win against 1 loss.
UP, now coached by Boyet Fernandez, fell to its 3rd straight loss.
